This series contains fieldwork forms, artifact accession logs, bag lists, maps, notes, and correspondence relating to the various excavations at 21MO20. Please note: this series is very closely related to group 2, series 10: LEHP sites (boxes 15-16). This series contains more fieldwork while series 10 focuses on research and interpretation, but each series provides context for the other. See also record group 1, series 7: field journals (boxes 3-4).

Records include primary and secondary source research material, mostly assembled in preparation for Birk's 1980 Sayer publication and expanded over the following years. Multiple draft copies of this publication are included, mostly in a disorganized state. This series includes very little fieldwork and is unrestricted as the site described, now called the Snake River Fur Post, is open to the public. The series' digital component includes drafts and sections of the more recent Sayer publications.
