Part of Douglas A. Birk Archaeology Papers

This collection contains two types of born-digital material: the contents of individual removable media originally distributed throughout the paper files consisting of CDs, DVDs, and floppy disks, and the contents of the hard drive from Birk's home office computer. All digital material has been transferred to a stable storage environment and access copies are available online via a Microsoft Sharepoint site. The contents of Birk's hard drive are voluminous and the directory structure has been left unaltered. Relationships between paper and digital records are indicated by metadata tags in SharePoint that reference series in the paper collection, and by separation sheets in the paper collection that reference digital directories. Note that these cross-references are not comprehensive.
